Forum Runner - vBulletin, phpBB, XenForo, and myBB Forum Reader App Reviews

This app was ok for awhile. My forum was included. Now whenever trying to reply it crashes. Could have to do with iOS 10, if thats the case, wheres the update? Now I need to take the time to uninstall it from my forum and stop promoting the option. I already have a mobile version installed, just thought this may be a nice option, but if no update, its useless and frustrating for me as the forum owner and anyone who may use it.

Can not post without app crashing on iOS 10. Fix this problem

Since upgrading to iOS 10 ForumRunner is not working. Im unable to reply to a thread. Type a word, a space, and on the next character it exits the app. I checked other forums and users were reporting the same issue. I guess they didnt regression test. Im also unable to see my posts in my profile or to search a forum. Both attempts get a permission denied message (both are presumably using the same search routine). I am a formerly satisfied customer.

This app DOES NOT WORK with iOS 10! I have used the app for several years without any big problems, however, since updating to iOS 10, it is completely useless.

Doesnt work and crashes every time. Absolutely no support via email or their forum. Really, it needs to be removed from the App Store.

Awful app. Every time I tried to reply the app crashed. Every. Single. Time. Want my money back.

This app is certainly not worth paying for. Been using it for just over a month now. Thinking that continued use might make it seem better in time. Its not better. The only thing good is that you can read your forum threads a little easier (the font is bigger and more readable than using the browser). The bad: I cannot get to my forums easily as this app does not allow you to have a favorites or saved list. You have to search each time to get to your forums. Push notifications do not work properly. Or at all. And certain things within some of my favorite forums are missing with this app. Also, the way threads are posted with only the most recent replier listed and they do not have the actual posters name. Very confusing. Defiantly not worth the money!

Poor. Fail to see the benefit over the website, at least the website functions properly.

You cant do anything on the forum until you make a profile. But every time I type in a new user id and password to try to set it up it just says permission denied. Why? I already paid for it. Am I typing something wrong or using characters that the system wont allow.? I dont know. It doesnt tell you and there isnt any kind of instructions or help regarding how to set up an account. So now what? Just delete it and be out the cash? If anyone knows how to register for an account leave a message. Very frustrating.

This is a great app and easy to use. I love that you can add your favorite sub-forums to the home screen of the app. Not sure why others are having trouble. I just tested to see if you can zoom on images and that works perfectly in either portrait or landscape mode. You have to sign up for a Forum Runner account and then sign into any forums you want to save. Definitely, click on the action arrow when you’re inside a forum and "add to favorites" so you don’t have to search for a forum every time you open Forum Runner. All favorites will appear on your home screen.

I get a connection error about half of the time. Pics load in the thread but wont load in the "gallery".

Doesnt load any forums in the Forum Browser: sits and thinks for a minute or so, then brings up a dialog saying that the connection timed out. Then it crashes.

On my phone, the app has to be shut down completely each time I want to check a message.

Used to be a great app but it hasnt been updated for ages, its gradually dying...

Since I upgraded to iOS 8, the app is crashing about every other thread that I open. Very annoying.

Constant Parse errors. Crashes opening links. Need a lot of work for iOS8 Works OK to view forums, except for the random and constant Parse Errors. Could also use a UI makeover. Tapatalk is much better, Unfortunately there is one forum that only uses forum runner, so Im stuck with this for now.

This app worked well until I upgraded to iOS8. Since upgrading to iOS8 the app crashed every couple of minutes. If you are already using ios8 then you may want to wait on getting this app.

The app crashes on external links from forum posts in iOS 8. It doesnt seem to be maintained much anymore. Try something else.
